Hsiang Ju Hung【Open Door Open Mind】

“Door” reflects artist’s idea of ideal social interaction mode. The artist hopes to arouse viewer’s awareness on empathy and equality toward the others. The installation features a paper sculpture of a human body with a little door on its chest. Viewers are able to influence the other door inside the sculpture via opening and closing of the door on its chest. The similar actions and reflections between the actual door and the virtual door represent the ideal equal social interactive mode. With each opening and closing, the viewer will be shown different people and scenes. Multiple and diverse imagery is a reflection of the viewer’s own social
life and relationship.
