The project  Future City is an exploration of new sensory experiences: It combines architecture, written and improvised music on traditional Chinese instruments, video, and text. Future City shows ideas and dreams about the city of tomorrow, and makes creative use of new technolo¬gies that are radically reshaping our world. Using his interest in the culture of Asia and the relationship between music and architecture, Coleman explores the spaces between sight and sound and experiments with common notions of global culture.

Gene Coleman is a composer, musician and director. He has created over 50 works for various instrumentation and media, often using complex notations and improvisation in the same score. Innovative use of sound, image, space and time allows Coleman to create work that expands our un¬derstanding of the world. Since 2001 his work has focused on the global transformation of culture and music’s rela¬tionship with other media, such as architecture, video and dance.

Chai Found Music Workshop

Chai Found Music Workshop is one of the major players on the traditional Music scene of Taiwan. With their mission to expand the Chinese and Taiwanese music tradition into a modern form of art, they are not afraid of stepping onto unknown ground and touching new things. Chai Found has proven its excellence in many concerts in every corner of Taiwan, over whole Asia, as well as in invitations to quite a few countries of Europe and the Americas. Their “East¬ern Instrumental Theater” productions “Ambush!’ and “The Journey of the Monkey King” have gained wide success among critics and audiences.
