Taipei Digital Art Festival joined the world-class outdoor LED screen “Taipei Screen” to host the “Taipei Screen Size” outdoor creative multimedia competition. To encourage diversified creative experiments, Digital Art Center Taipei (DAC Taipei) specially planned the creative media competition featuring the special “Taipei Screen Size” digital art presentation. This will be a manifestation of the “Art in Life” concept. The 4th Taipei Digital Art Festival 2009 features the theme- “Funky Light”, which is a response to a phenomenon commonly occurring in the creative process of digital arts. That is to say, under this theme, a wide range of the “light and shadow” media will be utilized in creative presentation and the “light and shadow” creative mode will expand the spaces and possibilities to a great extent for the development of digital arts. The first giant outdoor LED digital screen in Taiwan- the Taipei Screen, covers the whole expanse of the glass curtain of Taipei Arena. This 120mx20m screen is the benchmark outdoor media of Taiwan. Its special oblong and curved design expands the visual angles to three dimensions, creating a very different visual presentation for the digital arts.
