人形生物被惡作劇地將頭部以插頭取代，他們很快地就依賴著彼此，而非拋棄自身，任由豎起的手指支配。但手指頭仍在周圍搔弄著……這就是愛情嗎？〈愛˙即插即用〉由Michael Frei創作執導，作品中的繪圖，全部由藝術家用食指，在筆記型電腦上的觸控版繪出。

Anthropoid creatures with plugs in place of heads are up to mischief. Instead of abandoning oneself to the dictates of the raised finger, they soon submit to themselves. But the fingers also finger around. Is it love? “Plug & Play” is entirely drawn with artist’s index finger using the integrated touchpad of a laptop. Directed and animated by Michael Frei.

〈愛˙即插即用〉以非敘事性的劇本，由全覽式的設計進行發想。在一個不斷回返與循環的過程當中，以動畫形式及使用電腦或智慧型手機下載的應用程式進行遊戲。作品透過遊戲參與者使用電腦滑鼠或手指去進行數位化影像的主被動性，藉由互動的過程，參與者得以創造敘事，改變電子或數位訊號的傳遞方式。
“Plug & Play” creates an overall perspective design based on a non-narrative script. The work represents an animation about a continuously process of repetition and cycle via an application game for PC or mobiles. By using of the mouse or fingers to interactive, the work carries out initiative and passive relationship between people and digital image. The participants can create a narration and change digital signal transmission by interacting with the work.

Michael Frei 1987年生，現工作於巴黎及瑞士阿姆里斯維爾，先前在瑞士琉森應用科技藝術大學就讀動畫設計，之後畢業於愛沙尼亞塔林藝術學院。作品〈與我們無關〉與〈愛˙即插即用〉在全世界獲獎無數，2014年受邀參加「日本東京動畫藝術家駐村計畫」。

Michael Frei, born 1987, currently based in Paris and Amriswil. He studied animation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and at the Estonian Academy of Art in Tallinn. His Films “Not About Us” and “Plug & Play” received numerous awards all over the world. He was invited “Animation Artist in Residence Tokyo” in 2014.
