Holo x Puppetrix
In our production, angle steel is used to set up the space needed for the entire holography. A television screen is placed on the top as the medium for projecting images, while an acrylic board is placed on the bottom for reflecting and displaying images. As to the sensor, we use Leap Motion for sensing players’ gestures and stick it on the angle steel on the bottom of the acrylic board in the middle of the production, not only allowing people to manipulate the virtual puppet but also increasing the sense of reality of manipulation.
As to the process of game operation, because of holography, it is suggested to be done in a darker environment for better and clearer game display.
As operating games, players do not need to wear any sensor, and all they need to do for manipulating the puppet is to put their hands with the most relaxed and natural way at the sensing zone. As to the design of operating gestures, we imitate the form of operating traditional puppets, allowing players to understand the culture of glove puppetry more while operating so as to achieve the meaning of cultural inheritance.
