This event is presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei Municipal Government,
organized by the Etat Lab
Introduction
Initiated by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei Municipal Government, the Digital Art Festival Taipei 2006 will be kicked off.
Taipei Digital Art Festival Taipei 2006 is the first large digital art event inaugurating in Taipei, and will present both indoor and outdoor
activities. The Festival aims to introduce digital art to the general public and through public involvement, creating art that reflects
daily life of the public. In order to bring different angles and diversified experience of art to people's daily activities, this event
will take place in the two historical buildings: Zhongshan Hall and Red Theatre in the Hsi-Meng-Ting and the pedestrian mall
between them, the most popular spot of youths in Taipei.
Along with the Digital Art Festival Taipei 2006, Taipei Biennale and the Public Art Festival are staged at the same time.

Main Activities
- 1. Exhibition
Exhibiting works of Interactive Installation, Internet Art, Audio Art and Video Art in Zhongshan Hall
as well as some outdoor space around the neighborhood.
- 2. Digital Art Awards
Calling for new digital art works from Taiwan and the Grand Prize of the First Digital Art Awards to
one selected work from the following four categories: Interactive Installation, Internet Art, Audio Art and Video Art.
- 3. Performances
Outdoor opening of the Festival to kick off indoor and outdoor performances
Performing Artists: Ku & Dancers, Benoit Maubrey among others.
- 4. Forums
Artists participating in the Festival, art critics and art curators across the world in three
forums to share their experiences in digital art. The forums will be open to the public.
