The Sound of Suitcase series is inspired by the artist’s preference in suitcases. He has always been lost in reverie when gazing at closed suitcases and expected to be caught by surprise when opening them. The viewers are allowed to interact with the sound devices installed in these suitcases. The in-built sensors can detect the interaction, and thereby trigger the programmed mechanism that plays pre-written compositions in a random manner. The artist seeks to transform these installations from musical instruments for live performance into sound artworks in which the viewers may find great delight by playing and interacting with them.
Wang Chung-Kun

He has created various forms of machinery that have consistently maintained an intriguing purity and peculiar sense of beauty.
