The “Daemon in Cross Media” is an interactive technology artwork across the virtuality and reality. The concept is to let the participants using a mobile phone can naturally fished up virtual objects to the phone in real space, but also can make virtual objects leisurely across different media (boundary).

The main installation is a 120 cm diameter of 80 cm high with wooden tank. The water surface is the image presentation of daemons in the water by the projection. The surface looks like water as a mirror and daemons swim in the water. The viewer can use hands to touch the surface of tank to make the water ripples through the interaction of the non-contact capacitive sensing system installed at the bottom of the surface. In the meanwhile, we made the smart phone as “tangible mobile interface”, so the participants can fishing up the daemons from real tank by their smart phone installed our app. The fished -up daemons from the real tank will jump to the participant's smart phone, but also can be poured back to the tank. The artwork presents a cross media interactive experience between virtual objects and real sense.
