The original intention of “Selfie,” an action of recording oneself, was to preserve a real, memorial moment. Along with the change of technologies, photography is more and more accessible to people, but the relationship between cameras and people also becomes relatively weak. Many people do not record the reality but only take photos for catering to others and sharing.
Today’s social style and technological evolution leads social platforms to prevail, making us care about others’ judgments far more than our own feelings. We gradually get into the disguise mode, acting in the same way, and forget heart-touching original intentions of many things.
Therefore, this creation tries to awaken people’s esteem on self’s reality from the fundamental meaning of photography. Via unconscious capture, “outside in” self-observation and simple sensing control, heartbeat frequency becomes the trigger of momentary shutter. Genuine joy and status will be found by sudden captures, the unpredictable moments.
