DVJ are performing art forms in applying digital art that are most active and closest to people’s life.
Its earlier form only existed in the subculture of the society — some impromptu mixing DJ and VJ. Within 10 years, the function of it stepped up from as the backdrop of the performances, but soon it turned to be a necessary element in performances. In recent years, electronics and computers controlling devices have improved to a great extent. Imagery stitching and 3 dimensional mapping projection technology are well developed, and could be projected on floating screen, glass beads projection screen, water mist screen, and visual persistence projections. Icons, animations and videos becomes the virtual leading characters to interact with the real actors, and shines on the stage to become undeniable sparks.
Taipei Digital Art Festival 2012 invites the most seasoned DVJ in Taiwan, Liu Hua (劉驊), a new media artist to design, and to participate DVJ events for two nights. The theme of the event is “VJ Battle Zone.” The DJs will spin the music, while VJs creates floating projections, and to make the different imageries to dance off.
