The objectives of the Department of Applied Music are to groom arts workers capable of integrating music with other diverse arts. As such the Department actively participates and studies development trends in this area in Taiwan. This year, “Southern wave 2” is privileged to have been invited by “The 3rd Digital Art Festival Taipei 2008” to join in its exhibitions. The Department intends to utilize its teaching and student resources and work with several digital artists to jointly develop a “digital interactive 
installation” as its participating entry. The Department will present the said “digital interactive installation” together with its original musical composition at the Opening Ceremony of the Digital Art Festival. The program planning and music composition are undertaken by the Department’s teacher in Creative Section, while the computer program, mechanical design and construction of the “digital interactive installation” will be undertaken by two artists from “Logico-Studio”.
