1981年，六歲的小琪和爸爸媽媽在臺北縣的幸福路上生活著。 幸福路口有條髒到不行的大排水溝叫做「幸福大排」。每一天，從大排遠遠的那頭，總是會有各種加工食物的味道傳來，彌漫整條幸福路；小琪認為，那正是正在工廠上班的爸爸，在製作她最愛的零食。

過完這個夏天，小琪終於要上小學了！媽媽希望小琪好好讀書以後上大學，成為有用的人。小琪小小的心中立下願望：一定要努力向上完成媽媽的期望，追求幸福的人生。 然而，從上學的第一天開始，小琪就發現：上學並不愉快。首先，老師很兇，有點可怕。再者，她得自己應付各種讓人沮喪的事情，包括愛欺負她的男同學，還有徹底忘記爸爸媽媽說的語言。

In 1981, a six-years-old girl Qi and her parents live on Happiness Road in Taipei County. There is an extremely dirty gutter called "Happiness Gutter" at the intersection of Happiness Road. The smell of processed foods is coming from the end of the gutter, filling the whole Happiness Road. Qi thought that was her father who works in the factory, making her favorite snacks.

Finally, Qi is going to elementary school at the end of summer! Mommy hopes Qi study hard so that she can go to the university, and become a useful person. Qi makes a wish in her mind: "I must work hard to complete mommy's expectation, and pursue a life with happiness. However, since the first school day, Qi found out that is not happy to go to school. The teacher is kind of scary, and she has to face many unhappy things including the boy that likes to bully her, and forgetting her mother language..

Before becoming a filmmaker, Hsin-Yin was a journalist, writer and photographer. As a filmmaker, Sung, HsinYin is interested in trying different film genres to explore universal relationships among people. She has a particular interest in finding the pace of a film through editing, like composing a piece of music. Her live action shorts such as "The Red Shoes", "Single Waltz" have been screened at numerous international film festivals. Her first directing animation short won best animation at Taipei Film Festival 2013. She is now developing an animation feature "On Happiness Road".
