- About the event
The Digital Art Awards Taipei (DAA Taipei) is one of the events held every year during the Digital Art Festival Taipei (DAF Taipei) to encourage pure art creation using digital media. There were over a hundred entries in the DAA Taipei 2008, suggesting that the event itself has become the most representative and most professional of its kind in Taiwan.
This year we will continue to discover potential and excellent digital artists and to encourage young artists to display their creativity. By making “Digital-Art-Life” the subject of the DAA Taipei 2008, we hope that the event can promote and help realize the integration of digital art and life with creations that include interactive installation, sound art, video art and internet art. - Contestant requirements
Anyone who holds a ROC citizenship is welcome to submit. - Prizes
(a)Interactive installation
There will be one winner and several finalists for this category. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of NT$300,000 and a trophy. The winning work will be collected by the Digital Art Center, Taipei (DAC, Taipei). Every finalist will be rewarded with a certificate of merit.
(b)Sound art：
There will be one winner and several finalists for this category. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of NT$100,000 and a trophy. Every finalist will be rewarded with a certificate of merit.。
(c) Digital audio-visual：
There will be one winner and several finalists for this category. The winner will be awarded with a cash prize of NT$100,000 and a trophy. Every finalist will be rewarded with a certificate of merit.。
(d) Internet Art and Multimedia：
There will be one winner and several finalists for this category. The winner will be awarded with a cash prize of NT$100,000 and a trophy. Every finalist will be rewarded with a certificate of merit.。
- Application
Artists interested in the event may download the relevant information and forms from the DAF 2008 official website at http://www.dac.tw/daf08 during the event period. Please complete the application forms and the power of attorney.
Please mail a CD/DVD containing your works, your application form and power of attorney to the Digital Art Center Preparatory Office at 7/F, 160 JianGuo South Road Section 1, Taipei City, Taiwan 106, ROC, by 31 July 2008. Please also indicate clearly on the envelope ‘Digital Art Awards Taipei 2008’. No works or applications submitted later than 31 July 2008 shall be considered and the date on post stamps will be used as the mailing date.
